This is the background page made with our first tutorial. First of all watch the short film with my commentary to see how to set up your html page and then read this. Here is the url to the film:

I changed the #FFFFFF to read #000000 and you see the background is in black. I then changed the TEXT to read #FFFFFF so that our text is in white. We shall cover much more about colour in a later tutorial. Play around with your webpage to see how various colours work. Here is a web link to a page which has many colours and their various codes. Choose some of these and use them to change the colour of your text and background.

If you would like to use this photograph to practice with then right click it and 'save picture as'. It has a black background and so will only look good on a page with a black background. I have also added one below with a white background if you would like to practice with that.
